2013 MTV VMAs: 1D, Gaga, Katy Perry Hit Red Carpet

Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus have arrived at the 2013 MTV VMAsheld at the Barclays Centre in New York.

The Roar singer graced the red carpet wearing an animal print frock, complete with a thigh-high split.

Despite wearing meat and er, Kermit the Frog in the past, Gaga has kept it natural for her look at this year's event, wearing a plain, black gown with a plunging neckline.

Mother Monster also kept her make-up simple, sporting a bull-ring in her nose and her dark hair flowing over her shoulders. 

Miley donned a vintage Dolce & Gabbana black, two-piece with multi-coloured gemstone embellishment, while wearing her short, cropped hair in 90s inspired style. 

Rita Ora has since wowed crowds in Brooklyn, donning a duck-egg blue, feathered sequinned couture frock by desinger Alexandre Vauthier

Calvin Harris' lady completed her look her a new short, bob hairstyle - also showing off her cleavage in the dress.

Representing the UK, One Direction arrived looking daper and sending fans into a frenzy as they posed for snaps on the red carpet.

Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran also joined the party, with Ellie looking stunning in a studded silver gown.

Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone and Jersey Shore star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi have also arrived at the event as well as X Factor USA group, Fifth Harmony.

Iggy AzaelaKendrick Lamar and Ciara have now hit the red carpet, with the latter looking almost naked in a sheer, silver couture Givenchy frock.  

The 2013 MTV Video Awards will be shown on MTV from 8pm on Monday August 26.
