Calvin Harris Thanks ‘Superstar’ Rihanna As He Collects A 2016 VMA For ‘This Is What You Came For’

There was one person missing from his speech though...

Huge congratulations are in order for Calvin Harris, who picked up the Best Male Video award for ‘This Is What You Came For’ (featuring Rihanna) at the 2016 VMAs.

Congrats, Calvin!

However, though he did include a heartfelt thank you to Rihanna in his message,it seems the focus of his award has actually shifted onto a noticeable omission from his acceptance speech in the form of Taylor Swift, who co-wrote the track, originally under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg.

Collecting his award via a videoas he was unable to attend the awards in person, Calvin said: “Wow! Wow! First of all, I'm so sorry I can't be there, I have a show tonight in the UK or else I would definitely be there.

“MTV, this is crazy. I need to thank Rihanna from the bottom of my heart. You're a superstar, every time we work together you bring something magical to the project so thank you. Emil Nava the director you're a legend, you're my favorite man on earth, thank you for everything you've done for me.

“And everybody who supported this song, who watched the video, I love you so much. Thank you. This is amazing. I love you. Thank you, MTV.”

'You can watch the 2016 MTV VMA pre-show Monday at 8pm on MTV UK before the main show kicks off at 9pm featuring performances from Rihanna, Britney Spears & G-Eazy, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj, The Chainsmokers & Halsey and more...'
