Justin Timberlakeand Jay-Z, has also secured nominations for Best Collaboration and Best Direction.
Fresh from their show-stopping performance at theBruno Mars continues his hugely successful VMA run by bagging four nods, where he will take on JT in the Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Male Video categories, with 30 Seconds To Mars are each up for three Video Music Awards, while Taylor Swift, Drake and Calvin Harris have also racked up notable nominations.
This year, the VMA for Best New Artist has been re-named Artist to Watch presented by Taco Bell®, with Twenty One Pilots, Zedd, Austin Mahone, The Weeknd and Iggy Azalea all in with a chance of winning.

The 2013 MTV Video Awards will be shown on MTV from 8pm on Monday August 26.
