Justin Timberlakehas defended Miley Cyrus' raunchy performance at the Robin Thicke.

When asked about the exNSYNC bandmate Chris Kirkpatrick that Timberlake was "a little angry" by Miley's show-sealing performance.

He was quoted by radio station Johnny's House as saying: "That was a performance. That was different.

"I think when we were watching it, I saw Justin getting a little angry. And when he gets angry, I said, 'Uh oh, we'd better be on point because he's about to go out and kill it now'."

Kirkpatrick continued: "It was what it was. I don't get it. I don't understand. I mean, sometimes people think that you have to out-weird people - the shock value. And it's like, 'You know what? That's not what it's about'.

"It's about the music and the kids want to see you out there doing your songs and being you. I'm sure she's a great girl, but I was a little disappointed."
