Lady GaGa Defends Wearing Meat Dress To The VMAs
She tells Ellen DeGeneres it was not meant to be 'disrespectful'...
VMAs claiming she didn't want to wear 'just another award show dress.'
Despite claiming the dress never included cuts of real meat, GaGa felt the need to clear-up her reasons for wearing the gory gown, explaining to vegan-talk show host American Idol judge that as she wasn't performing at the bash she didn't want to be: "just another bitch in a dress at an awards show,"
Ellen also asked GaGa about her recent Vogue cover, where she donned meat by wearing a beef bikini.
Holding up a copy of Japanese Vogue, DeGeneres said: "I get most of your outfits, I really do ... because I'm vegan, so that's kind of ... what is the purpose of the meat suit?"
GaGa replied: "Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth,"
She added: "However, it has many interpretations, but for me this evening ... If we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And I am not a piece of meat,"
