The moving photographs from the worlds trouble spots screened throughout this show proved the War Child charity is a worthy cause.

More than that the figures speak for themselves- 2 million kids have been killed in armed conflict over the last 10 years one every three mins. While more than 250 million children are forced to live on the streets because of war.

Its no wonder a host of indie acts and DJs appeared at this gig. Video Nasties kicked things off followed by three piece Fear Of Flying.

Their 80s pastiche rock has good melodies plus plenty of wah wah peddle and cowbells. Sorted. After that The Rakes played a DJ with classics from Beck and Tom Tom Club thrown in.

These New Puritans brought their oft-kilter rock to Koko too. They were shy but powerful with de-tuned Franz Ferdinand appeal. The group are better suited to a smaller venue though.

Both Kitty Sell Out and Punks Jump Up played banging electro sets before Friendly Fires came on. Their great spectacle included confetti on stage, a drum sabotage and maracas-a-go-go.

Hotly tipped Late Of The Pier also played for Warchild with an energetic freak-out that pleased the audience no end.

While it was weird having a rock n roll time amidst the reality of dying children it was a fun event and worked well in raising awareness.
