Whitney Houston has poured her heart out to Oprah Winfrey about how she battled back from drug addiction.

The diva’s first album in seven years, I Look To You, went straight to the top of the US chart last week.

But Houston revealed to Oprah that at her lowest point she was smoking marijuana and crack cocaine together and had forgotten about her career.

She also revealed that it was her mother who forced her to rehab. Whitney explained: “She said, 'I'm not losing you to the world. I'm not losing you to Satan... I want my daughter back'.”

"She said 'either you do it my way or we'll go on TV and you're gonna retire'."
