Will.I.Am Already Working With Jaz Ellington
While a kids’ version of the The Voice could be planned for next year...
The talent show singer, who was axed on Sunday night’s show along with Ruth Brown, has been in the studio with the Black Eyed Peas star.
Yesterday, Will tweeted: “I went to sleep at 8am woke up at 1pm to work with @jazellington & his youth choir..#teamwill #notimetowaste.”He also posted a photograph of Jaz and the choir to the social networking site.
The Sun newspaper points out that some fans were surprised to see Will.I.Am working with an ex-contestant who has got the boot – rather than Tyler James, who is still on his team and in the running for the final.
One user asked via Twitter: “@iamwill why aren’t u working with @TylerJames777???”
On Sunday night Will tweeted Jaz: “This is just the beginning for our work together in the near future... Let’s take this to outer space :) #thevoiceUK.”
And he also wrote a message to Tyler: “#thevoiceUK @TylerJames777 – let’s show the world how lucky the UK is to have a superstar like you... ”
Meanwhile, rumours suggest that a kids’ version of The Voice could be on the cards next year.
According to The Mirror, a series for young singers has been hugely popular in Holland, where the multinational franchise began, and may come to the UK next year.
Bosses at the BBC are reportedly in talks to create a show for juniors aged 8-14, which would rival acts on Britain’s Got Talent.
The paper reports a TV source as saying: “A kids’ version of The Voice would be more competition for BGT, which relies on child acts.
"Parents might be encouraged because there is no real criticism of anyone who lines up in front of the judges on The Voice.”
Dutch media tycoon John de Mol, who also devised Big Brother in the ‘90s, said: “The Voice Kids was a tremendous success in Holland.
"There was a big emotional reaction from the parents of the children taking part.”
