Willow Smith Talks About Signing With Jay-Z

The nine year old hung out with the rap legend…

Willow Smith has said that all her ‘hard work paid off’ when she was signed by Jay-Z to his Roc Nation label.

The nine year old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett has caused a stir with her single Whip My Hair, with the video getting its premiere this week.
And speaking to our US team she talked about getting joining Jigga’s label, saying: “It felt like all the hard work paid off, mostly that, Like all the hard work that I've done, like recording Whip My Hair- it's paid off."
Willow continued: “We went to this building, I don't remember what it was, but we had a meeting and I got to hang out with him and meet him, and it was fun.”
In a separate interview with Teen Vogue she admitted her favourite number- 44- is also related to the rap mogul and his missus.
The young star explained; “I was sitting at the piano, and I just picked it at random, I thought, 'Taylor Swift has one, why not me?”
“It turned out Jay-Z's birthday was December 4, Beyoncé's birthday is September 4, and their anniversary has something to do with a 4, too.”
Her label boss previously told us about signing Willow. Jay said: “I believe in superstars. I believe in big records and superstars, and I think she has both.”
Earlier this week Rihanna signed to Roc Nation after parting with her manager.
