Wonder Woman 2 Will Be Set In The 1980s

Director Patty Jenkins has confirmed that the Wonder Woman sequel will be set in the ‘80s. Here are all the details.

Patty Jenkins has been talking up what we can expect from the forthcoming Wonder Woman sequel, with the headline news being that the new movie will take place in the ‘80s. Diana Prince in legwarmers, anyone?

“She’s an optimistic and positive character,” said Jenkins, when asked about the character’s future. “The film is set in the ‘80s. She has to deal with the temptation of our world and face extraordinary odds.”

Plot details are pretty scarce at this point, but the suggestion is that the Cold War will cast a long shadow over events.

Gal Gadot will return in the title role, with Kristen Wiig joining proceedings as the villainous Cheetah, and star of the '70s TV show, Lynda Carter is also confirmed to make a guest appearance.

Directed by Jenkins, Wonder Woman 2 will open on 1 November 2019.
