This Cat Has Been Elected To The Russian Communist Party Because Russia
He's been nicknamed the Russian Robin Hood and has a legion of fans...
It's funny how people feel about cats. A woman puts one in a bin and she gets death threats. An owner realises her pet looks perpetually angry, so she turns it into a career. And now, a cat walks over a load of meat, and it gets made into a political hero.
A hungry Russian stray has been making waves (read, generating clicks) after a video of it perusing the meat and fish fridge of an airport store has gone viral. Dubbed a 'hero' by enthusiastic Russian supporters, it left $1000 worth of damage in its wake after it somehow got into the shop.
Taken in by a local ice hockey team as a mascot, newly named Matroskin has since been welcomed into the ranks of the local department of the Russian communist party. “This ginger whiskered Bolshevik on four paws made his incisive attack on the bourgeois establishment”, was the reasoning offered by party secretary, Sergey Malinkevich.
And you can't really argue with that.
