Cher's Guest Appearance On New Wu Tang Clan Album
Yes, really - the pop diva has provided vocals for the rap group’s ‘one-of-a-kind’ new record...
What do the supposed ‘best rap group ever’ and ‘the Goddess of pop’ have in common? Is Cher having a steamy love affair with Method Man, or starring in a film with the RZA? Maybe not, but what has been revealed is that the 67-year-old pop icon will be appearing on one of Wu Tang Clan’s forthcoming LP’s.
Though she apparently has not even met the gang yet (though we can’t wait for the photos when she does), Cher has recorded her vocals for Once Upon A Time in Shaolin separately. The LP will be released in one physical copy, and rumours have been flying around that offers of $5 million dollars have been put on the table.
For number crunchers out there, it means that Cher’s contribution to the album is hypothetically worth up to $200,000. For that price, we’d expect her vocals to be quite literally laced with gold.
Time will tell whether the track will be as diamond encrusted as you’d expect. Check out a snippet of the album:
