Shawn Michaels has been asked to return to the ring at next year’s Wrestlemania, the WWE legend has claimed.
Appearing on The Ross Report podcast, HBK responded to a question about whether WWE may approach big names like himself and Steve Austin to appear on the sports entertainment extravaganza by saying: “I’ve already had an offer. I’ve enjoyed being retired.”
The 49-year-old, who made a surprise cameo at this year's Wrestlemania to superkick Sting during his contest with Triple H, also revealed he has been asked to join WWE’s creative team.
“It wouldn’t be a great fit for me,” the star, often hailed as the squared circle’s greatest performer of all time, reflected.
“There’d be a lot of stifling going on.
“I’ve been able to sway them on things other people couldn’t.
“I’d be open to the Pat Patterson gig, where you have a couple of projects and you could write in from home about it.
“If you’re going to be there every week, you might as well go back and be an on-air character and make more money.”
