‘I’ve Always Wanted To Wrestle Brock Lesnar’: Could Daniel Bryan Face The Beast at Wrestlemania 31?
Dream match may be on the cards with D-Bry and Brock both scheduled for a TV return…
With Daniel Bryan and champion Brock Lesnar scheduled for a return to WWE programming next week in New Orleans for the first time since Wrestlemania 30, fans are speculating what lies ahead for both men.
One particularly appealing option exciting the WWE Universe is the possibility the two stars could face off at this year’s big show in Santa Clara – particularly if Lesnar drops the title to either John Cena or Seth Rollins at the Royal Rumble later this month.
Rumours continue to circulate Lesnar, 37, could make a return to the UFC at the end of his current contract with WWE, believed to run out around the time of Wrestlemania in March.
Should he opt to leave the company – and if Bryan does NOT win the Rumble to become the Wrestlemania title contender – the stars may align and see The Beard vs The Beast at the annual festival of sports entertainment.
In an interview with Bryan conducted just before Summerslam while he was recovering from his neck surgery, the technical wonder admitted such a clash would be a dream come true.
“One of the things that kills me about this is if I were champion right now I’d be wrestling Brock Lesnar and that’s the match I’ve always really wanted,” he said at the time.
“I feel like we could do something completely different that people [wouldn’t] have seen before in the United States.
“That’s the match I really, really want.”
Bryan, 33, also singled out former Shield members Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose - as well as Swiss superstar Cesaro - as ideal future opponents.
“I want to do a pay-per-view match with Cesaro at some point,” he added.
