WWE: Kevin Owens Admits He Doesn't Want Cesaro 'Stealing His Spotlight'
Kevin Owens has warned his expected SummerSlam opponent Cesaro to 'stay out of his business', insisting the fans should be backing him rather than the Swiss superman.
Speaking to Michael Cole, the French Canadian took several swipes at his athletic rival - including a dig claiming Cesaro is unable to connect with the WWE audience.
"My issues are simple - I just don't want Cesaro to take my spotlight," the prickly brawler told Cole.
"And I feel that's exactly what's been happening.
"Ever since he came out on Raw to answer that open challenge from John Cena - while I'm in the middle of my chase for the US title - he comes out, and just because he comes pretty close to beating John Cena, he thinks now he's some sort of big shot...? And the WWE Universe is clamouring for him to get the credit he deserves...? I deserve credit."
The 31-year-old continued: "He took John Cena to the limit? I beat John Cena - nobody will ever take that away from me. Cesaro didn't. I am the one the WWE Universe should be clamouring for, not Cesaro.
Owens added: "You know what, what was it Mr McMahon said in that podcast? Cesaro just doesn't connect. He doesn't have it. But I do.
"So Cesaro just needs to stay out of my business and everything will be fine.
"You say I've been taking out my anger on him, I think he's been doing that to himself."
Asked whether he was trying to initimidate Cesaro, Owens responded: "Is that a threat? Maybe it is."
