He added in a press release: “We are very excited to have Kana join the NXT roster.
“Her exciting in-ring style will make an immediate impact on the already impressive NXT women’s division.”
Having competed for numerous promotions in Japan over the course of her 11-year career, Kana surprised fans around the world when she made an appearance at ringside for the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event a few weeks ago, next to WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Sgt. Slaughter.
Here are five quick things you need to know about her...

She's familiar with other former WWE stars from Japan
Having worked in intergender contests against Tajiri for his now-defunct Smash promotion, Kana may have got the inside word on what WWE is like to work for from another former WWE performer she feuded with - Straight Edge Society member Serena.
She also knows the people to know backstage
Kana made her US debut for SHIMMER back in 2011 and has faced current WWE Divas agent Sara Amato during her trips over.
She Kana-not get enough of US culture, apparently
According to an interview from 2011, Kana is a big fan of Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and the Call of Duty series of video games.

As you can see for herself, Kana is not coming to NXT to take part in bras and panties matches.
