WWE: Stephanie McMahon Reveals Why Elimination Chamber Was Rebranded
The Road to Wrestlemania has taken a different path - and Steph has explained why the steel structure special was dropped from WWE's calendar...
WWE head honcho Stephanie McMahon has revealed the Elimination Chamber event was rebranded for operational reasons.
Stepping out of her TV character to speak on The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast, Chief Brand Officer Stephanie said the structure had become difficult to construct in venues.
"From a reality standpoint, the Elimination Chamber was ten tons. It was becoming increasingly hard to hang in arenas that had scoreboards,” she said.
"And more and more of the arenas were getting these beautiful displays in the middle of the arena and it made it [so] were unable to hang the Chamber in most of those arenas.
"That is the real reason we have changed the name and the theme of that pay-per-view to Fast Lane."
She added: "But it is still going to be the hottest pay-per-view attraction on the road to Wrestlemania, so don’t worry - we will deliver!"
Stephanie also said she missed working alongside her brother Shane, who left WWE in 2009.
“He has a number of different business initiatives and I’m really proud of him and I support him to do whatever his passion is."
