WWE: Steve Austin Doesn't Rule Out Paul Heyman's Enquiry About Facing Brock Lesnar
WWE megastar Steve Austin has admitted he had "a lot of fun" reverting to Stone Cold mode during his interview with Paul Heyman earlier this week - and didn't rule out facing Brock Lesnar at next year's Wrestlemania.
Reflecting on Monday's WWE Network appearance where he told Heyman he would ‘beat Brock Lesnar’s ass’ if a deal could be struck to bring the stars together, the former six-time champ said on his 'Steve Austin Show Unleashed!' podcast the promo he let rip with was neither legitimate nor a wrestling angle.
Austin, 50, said: "I had one or two people say ‘hey man, was that a work or shoot at the end there?’
"Man, it was neither a work nor a shoot - it just was what it was.
"I went back a little into Stone Cold mode because he posed the question. And like I told him: when you’re talking to Steve Austin, we’re talking to Steve Austin, but if you want to start talking to Stone Cold, that’s a whole other cat. So that’s what that turned out to.
"I had a lot of fun turning back into Stone Cold for about two minutes and had a good time doing the podcast. Its good to be back on the WWE Network.
Drawn on the appeal of breaking attendance records at the 105,000 seater AT&T Stadium in Texas next year by Heyman, Austin said - in character - on Monday he would consider tackling The Beast.
"Here’s the thing - I’d have to think about it," he said.
"But I think the person who’d really have to think about it is Brock Lesnar.
"I don’t think he’d want to take all the momentum, all the good stuff that you guys have done and then to roll in [in front of all those people] and get his ass smoked!"
