Elsewhere, John Cena warded off Seth Rollins' threat to his rematch with WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, resisting waves of outside interference from the Big Show, Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury to send Seth flying through a table - following a surprise assist from Roman Reigns.
Cena had already planted his Money in the Bank contract-holding rival for the the win in their tables bout, but with the ref injured the contest continued. The match stopped and started once again after the same ref waved away what looked to be a draw decision after the pair toppled simultaneously from the apron and through two tables. But Reigns' unexpected involvement proved decisive.
Slammy-winning Superstar of the Year Roman hit the ring, checking the interference of the Big Show with a Superman Punch and a colossal spear through a table before unloading another of his specialist strikes on Seth, sending him lurching into another Attitude Adjustment through a table.
