WWE’s Kevin Owens Exclusive: ‘I’d Love To Put An End To Brock Lesnar’
Kevin Owens has been WWE’s success story of the summer - and, not satisfied with beating sports entertainment’s biggest star John Cena in his pay-per-view debut at Elimination Chamber, the pugnacious NXT brawler wants even bigger and better challenges to take on in future. And who could possibly be a bigger challenge than Cena but Brock Lesnar?
Asked who his ideal opponent would be on talkSPORT’s Gorilla Position podcast, the 31-year-old revealed: "I think there’s only one answer for me right now, and it is Brock Lesnar.
"I think a lot of people want to see it.”
The French Canadian star, scheduled to battle current titleholder Finn Balor at the NXT Brooklyn special in August in a rematch for the NXT belt he dropped to the Irishman in Japan, admitted he is a huge fan of the Beast - but would still love to "put an end to him”.
Owens continued: "I was there the night he made his debut on Raw for WWE. I was in the crowd, like the fifth row.
"I remember being blown away immediately by this guy, I was on board right away. I bought Brock Lesnar T-shirts and Brock Lesnar hats. My parents got a dog that summer, I named him Brock. Seriously, he was a blonde Lab, he was huge: ‘That’s Brock!’
"I used to do the F5 when I was on the indies because of how much I admire him so I’d love to be the one to put an end to him."
Owens also dismissed rumours of him being a potential opponent for the Undertaker at next year’s Wrestlemania, saying: "As far as I know, I don’t know anything past tomorrow or next week."
