WWE's Nikki Bella: 'I'm Self-Made, My Journey Is The Real Story Of The Divas Revolution'
Nikki Bella has insisted her WWE journey is the real story of the ‘Divas revolution’, proclaiming: ‘I had to prove myself.’
Divas champ Nikki has AJ Lee's title reign record of 295 days within her grasp - but bitterness towards challenger Charlotte may overtake her achievement.
Nikki commented, cattily: "Charlotte’s great in NXT. And I truly feel that’s where she belongs."
She also revealed how she struggled to overcome being tagged as a beauty in her earlier WWE days when all she wanted to do was roughhouse in the ring.
"We all had to see her tears about how hard it is to be the daughter of Ric Flair,” she blasted.
"Well actually, I don’t think she realises how lucky she is, because what Charlotte doesn’t realise is how hard it is to be self-made. [Or] to come into this company and have no-one believe in you except being guest host for a year and a half, [when you’re] begging to wrestle.
"I had to work from the ground up. I didn’t have a famous father, I didn’t come from the independents. When I came in everyone saw a pretty face.
"I always wanted to be more than that, I always was more than that and I had to prove it."
She stressed: "My story is the ‘Revolution’."
