The Rock has triumphed in the WWE Championship after pinning rival CM Punk at the Royal Rumble last night (Sunday January 27).
The wrestler-turned-movie star had vowed after WrestleMania 28 last year that he would win the championship - and made good on his promise in front of a huge crowd in Phoenix, Arizona.
Things got off to a slow start in the match, with Rock focusing on attacking Punk's dodgy knee and Punk aiming to damage his rival's ribs.
And the fight took a crooked turn as the lights went out and The Shield attacked Rock - smacking him down on the infamous Announce Table.
After the lights came back on Punk held his adversary down while the ref counted to three, but his apparent victory was short-lived because Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon entered the ring and threatened to strip Punk of the title for cheating.
However Rock interjected and demanded the match be re-started so he could settle the score himself - and shortly afterwards pinned Punk to set up a WrestleMania 29 bout with John Cena.
