Wyclef Jeanhas reportedly recieved death threats and has gone into hiding as he awaits for the official announcement to see if he is The Fugees star claimed he was in a secret location in Haiti due to the threats he had recieved but didn’t reveal any information about who was threatening him.

Any hopes of Wyclef becoming the President of Haiti relies solely on the electoral officials and they’re preparing to announce whether he will be eligible to run alongside the plethora of candidates.

The performer sent countless emails to Associated Press and said that he was unsure whether the CEP (the electoral commission) would approve his candidacy: "We await the CEP decision but the laws of the Haitian constitution must be respected."

The fact that he has lived in the US since he was a young child could put an end to his hopeful dreams of becoming the leader of the poverty stricken country.
