Blonde Electra And Overload Generation Get X Factor Boot
First two acts get their marching orders as the live shows get under way...
The first weekend of The X Factor's live shows drew to a close last night, with two of the groups getting the chop.
Blonde Electra and Overload Generation both found themselves taking an early bath - with the wacky girl duo getting the least votes and the boy band defeated in the sing-off.
Despite looking crestfallen in their odd goth-raver make-up and costumes, the girls tried to stay upbeat, saying: "We've had the best time ever!"
And the boy band commented: "Obviously we are gutted, but we want to say thank you so much to everyone."
It was Stephanie Nala's lucky night though - as the judges were split 50/50 after the sing-off but she stayed in because she'd got more public votes than the boy band.
Her mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said afterwards: "It's a good wake-up call for her and for me."
The young singer said: "It's always my nerves, but I've realised that's the worst that can happen so I've just got to come back stronger."
And the hopefuls got a masterclass in how to deliver top-notch pop from the results show special guests - Taylor Swift and Pharrell Williams.
T-Swift sang her current hit Shake It Off, while Williams performed his new track Gust Of Wind.
It even emerged that Pharrell and seen Lauren Platt's rendition of his mega-hit Happy the night before - and had "loved it".
