Cher Lloyd has said her performance of Stay on The X Factor last weekend was ‘payback’ for people who doubt her.

The 17 year old chose not to rap for ‘Halloween’ week and instead turned in what Simon Cowell called the best performance of the series. It's already had over 1.7 million views on Youtube.

Speaking to X Magazine Cher said: “Vocally, I thought it was my best so far. It was very, very emotional.

“It was also a bit of payback to people who have been nasty to me, and also to show people I can sing. I think I've proved my point now.”

Meanwhile her mate Katie Waissel is reportedly refusing to rehearse for this Saturday’s American Anthems week.

A source told The Metro: “She doesn't like to rehearse. She won't sing the song they give her, either.
“Right now, Katie is refusing to practise at all and says she would just prefer to go on stage and sing a song first pop.”

The star was in the bottom two this week with Bel Amie so may need to up her game to stay in the competition.
