Cher Lloyd Takes On Cheryl Over Name
It’s claimed there is a battle over the youngster’s moniker…
Cher Lloyd and her X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole have reportedly fallen out over their similar names.
It’s claimed the 17 year old wants to change her performing moniker to Cher L to set her apart from the US star with her first name.
But of course that would then be even closer to ‘Cheryl’.
A source told The Sun: “Cher has already been called a mini-Cheryl and now she could end up with almost the same name. X Factor chiefs want Cher to change her name after the show to give her something a bit edgier and more fitting to her image.
"They don't like her having two names and think she should have something a bit different. She can't be known as Cher so the idea of Cher-L came up - but her mentor didn't like it as it was so similar to her own name.
“Cher loves Cheryl and values her input and ideas but it doesn't look like she'll get her way on this one.”
The youngster is likely to be signed by Simon Cowell when the show comes to an end whether she wins The X Factor or not.
On Saturday she impressed viewers and judges with her version of Shakespears Sister’s 90s hit Stay.
Measnwhile Louis Walsh has taken a dig at his fellow judge Chezza he told Heat magazine that Dannii Minogue is winning in the style stakes. And the Irish man had some advice for her and her contestant.
Louis said: “Why doesn’t Cheryl take her aside and say, “Stop making those angry faces?”
