Cheryl Cole is at loggerheads with Katie Waisselafter the headstrong contestant refused to sing the song her mentor had selected for her.

This week all Elton Johnhits and Cheryl was said to be less than impressed when Katie rejected her song choice, The Bitch Is Back – a cheeky nod to last week’s show when she was saved in favour of Treyc Cohen.

Instead, Katie will sing Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting). “There were a couple of songs put forward to me. I liked the fighting spirit of the songs, but one goes a little too far,” she explained. “Do you know what? You can push things too far.”

The 24-year-old admitted she and Cheryl didn’t always see eye to eye. “She keeps telling me to think before I speak because I never do. I think I have got foot in mouth or something.”

Katie has faced a backlash from the public this week and admitted she was scared to go out alone after she was harassed on a break from rehearsals. “Somebody threw something at me when I was walking around Convent Garden and even though it was only a banana skin it was still horrible,” she said.

“I’m scared when I go out. I don't know what the reaction to me is going to be… I do get worried that people are going to say something. It's scary. I'm really not a bad person. At the end of the day I am a 24-year-old girl and to be booed publicly for, well, I don't know what for, it hurts. It really hurts.”
