The Flood singer then agreed with the music mogul, adding: “Oh, well maybe I could rap on a track with her. That would be cool.”
An XF spokesperson has since claimed: "We’ve nothing to add or say about what Simon said on Xtra Factor.”
Meanwhile, the show has been hit with more fix claims, after reports have suggested that bosses "ignored" the public vote to land Cher a place in the final.
The Sun has claimed that for the first time in XF history, the judges decided who would make in the final, instead of viewers who traditionally pick their favourite semi-finalist performance.
The newspaper has reported that "hundreds of viewers" have complained over Mary's exit, with one fan telling the tabloid: "I think it's a fix. Cher must have finished bottom of the public vote and they decided to have a sing-off so they could save her. It's not right."

Despite the uproar, a show source told The Sun: "As the show evolves there are always changes to format. This decision was made weeks ago."
Mary has since confessed that she knew she would not win the series, telling Daybreak: "I knew I couldn’t win it. It’s a young person’s show and I did what I had to do, I came and did it and I’m so honoured to be given that opportunity."
She added: "So last night, to me, that was my final and I won it as far as I’m concerned."
As well as Cher making the final, the likes of Matt Cardle, One Direction and Rebecca Ferguson, also made the grade and will go head-to-head on next weekend's finale.
