Christopher Maloney Out Of The X Factor
Former cruise ship singer gets fewest votes in first stage of final...
Christopher, 34, had performed Irene Cara's Flashdance... What A Feeling solo before teaming up with his mentor Gary Barlow for a duet on the Take That star's own Rule The World.
But the call centre worker - who has never previously been in the bottom two - gained less votes than his rivals.
After hearing the news, he told show host Dermot O'Leary - who recently expressed his support for the hopeful: "Do you know what, I feel like I've already won."
And after Maloney made a garbled comment about the media and lies, Gary Barlow paid tribute to him.
He said: "Congratulations. Amazing. He's done brilliantly."
And in The Xtra Factor Maloney added: "I feel on top of the world. I feel like I've already won getting this far. I'm very proud, I was the Wildcard and I've come third and it's all down to the public vote."
