Fame Academy Coach Slams The X Factor's Rylan
David Grant has a pop at 'unbelievably fame-hungry' contestant...
Former Fame Academy vocal coach David Grant has stuck the boot into The X Factor contestant Rylan Clark.
Claiming that the attention-seeking 23-year-old is "unbelievably fame-hungry", Grant bemoaned the fact that more talented acts had left the contest first.
He told Sky News: "You have had in the many years of X Factor many people desperate for success. But this is the first person I have ever seen that would dress up and cross the street to be at the opening of an envelope.
"Rylan is the man who has had the greatest songwriter of our generation told he is deaf by someone who manages Jedward. Every time you think X Factor is a talent show, something like this happens to remind us that it's not."
But The Sun claims that Rylan has at least one high-profile supporter - none other than Gandalf actor Sir Ian McKellen.
The pair met at the Attitude Awards on Tuesday night, and a source told the paper: "Rylan went to the awards and was half expecting to just get more abuse.
"Everywhere he goes people give him stick but this was the complete opposite. Sir Ian McKellen of all people came up to him and said he was a huge fan and hoped he did well on the show.
"They swapped numbers and Rylan couldn't believe his luck when Sir Ian said he'd be happy to offer him some advice."
And in other Rylan news, the man himself has been speaking about his temporary eviction from London's posh Corinthian Hotel - after baring his bum in the street outside.
He told Heat magazine: "Oh god, the hotel were not happy with that kind of press. I'm holed up in a hotel in Wembley for five days. I've got to behave myself.
"I can't believe it. I was so drunk, but I said I'd do it and I f**king did it. The X Factor team warned me not to but they love it really."
