Frankie Cocozza's X Factor Exit Down To Drug Boasts?
Reports claim he was caught bragging about taking cocaine...
Wannabe rocker Frankie Cocozza was allegedly kicked off Gary Barlow's act apparently telling a friend: "I'm an idiot. What was I thinking? People seemed to like me, despite the fact I can't sing — and now I've blown it. I'll regret this the rest of my life."
Cocozza was spotted visiting The X Factor house last night, where he said his final goodbyes to the contestants after being caught out for his brag of taking cocaine with two blonde girls after Saturday's live show.
A source told the newspaper: "Frankie has hung himself over this. He boasted about his crazy night out and thought it would be cool to talk about the drugs."
They added: "He told a lot people he'd done it. I think he thinks it's no big deal. But to people who watch the show it's a huge deal. He's been extremely naive."
XF boss Simon Cowell has since told the tabloid: "Frankie's blown a wonderful opportunity. It's very sad, but he has no one to blame but himself."
Cocozza's mentor, Take That star Gary previously expressed his disappointment in him leaving the show, stating he hopes Frankie "continues to look to me as a friend and supporter and works it all out, picks himself up and somehow tries to turn this into a positive."
His father, Frank Snr, said yesterday: "I'm heartbroken for Frankie. I spoke to him last night on the phone and neither of us saw this coming."
The X Factor are expected to make an announcement later today (Wednesday November 9) regarding how Frankie's exit will affect the format of the show.
