Gary Barlow 'Threatens To Quit The X Factor'

Judge lays down the law with producers after Sunday's deadlock drama...

Gary Barlow is reported to have threatened to quit The X Factor if there is a repeat of the deadlock drama that led to his contestant Carolynne Poole [uuid=150912dd-ce06-4c8c-9732-72a055fb7416]leaving the show[/uuid] on Sunday.

Take That
star Gaz is claimed by The Sun to have issued show bosses with an ultimatum - that they must bring a halt to the pantomime elements of the show, or he will walk.
A source told the paper: "Gary is fiercely proud of his reputation and signed up for the show because he wanted to nurture genuine talent. The reason he wanted to be on it was to put a stop to these tricks and to stop insulting the artists and viewers.
"The pantomime some of his fellow judges bring to the show drives him insane and he believes it undermines the credibility of the whole show. Sunday's antics infuriated him. He was livid.
"He called a dinner for last night and issued an ultimatum — if this ever happens again he is off. No questions asked.
"Gary is demanding that genuine talent should always be recognised ahead of pantomime acts like Rylan who might pull in a few more phone votes for the novelty factor."
The show's executive producer Richard Holloway yesterday denied that he had instructed Louis Walsh to send the vote to deadlock - keeping Rylan Clark in the contest.
Meanwhile The Mirror reports that there have been 3,000 complaints to Ofcom and ITV over the manner of Carolynne's exit.
And the paper quotes a source on the show as saying: "We like the show being talked about and having attention, but fix allegations are never good for The X Factor.
"It is important we get the show back on track this week so that people talk about it for the right reasons."
