Last night's round of auditions saw a tearful audition from a former pop star.

Former Girl Thing member Linzi Martin auditioned in front of this year's panel - which included the girl band's ex-manager, Simon Cowell.

The mother of two started to perform Jackson 5's I'll Be There, before Simon told her to stop and compose her nerves.

She later admitted "the nerves are just killing me", after the judges agreed her audition was shaky.

Louis Walsh told the ex-pop star she was "brave" and gave her a yes to go through to the next round, as did fellow judge Mel B.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini admitted it wasn't a strong audition, and struggled to make a decision.

But Simon told the singer that he was going to be honest, and said it "wasn't going to work out" for her.

Linzi's former group,Girl Thing, also appeared on ITV 2's The Big Reunion earlier this year.
