ITV 'Don't Want Louis Walsh Back On X Factor'
Things have gone a bit quiet on the X Factor front since Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole were both confirmed to be returning to the show.
But it seems there could still be some wrangling going on behind the scenes as to whether or not veteran judge Louis Walsh will be returning for an 11th series of the show.
The Sun reports that bosses at ITV are not keen to see the Irish pop manager back alongside SiCo, claiming that they would prefer to see a "stronger" new face.
A source told the paper: "What we've said is we want the panel to be as strong as it can be and if that means getting rid of people who have been on it before, so be it.
"The show is going through a creative renewal with Simon and Cheryl Cole back, so it's only right we make it as good as we can.
"It's not just Simon's show — it's ITV's, so we have a big say. It was ITV boss Peter Fincham that helped broker the deal for Cheryl to come back."
But the paper also quotes a source close to Cowell as saying that the reality TV tycoon is determined to keep Walsh on board - and is "playing along" with ITV by talking to other candidates.
"Lots of people have been spoken to about The X Factor panel, but that's just to find the fourth judge, not replace Louis.
"Simon wants Louis back but he's conscious he has to play along with ITV's wishes. It's hard enough finding one new person, let alone two, so he's confident he'll get his way."
It has previously been reported that Chezza had expressed a desire not to work with Walsh - given their historic beef over his management of Girls Aloud.
