Jack Walton Gets The Chop On X Factor Fright Night

Mel B's boy given his marching orders after getting the least votes...

The first of this week's two eliminations from The X Factor took place last night - with Jack Walton getting the boot.

The 18-year-old had received lukewarm reviews from the judges for his rendition of Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love during Saturday night's Halloween-themed show.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini told him: "I felt your nerves. Something wasn't connecting with you. You didn't seem comfortable."

And Simon Cowell declared: "I think you're out of your comfort zone.

"It's all gone too crazy. I don't think this is you. I think you have compromised yourself."

Louis Walsh added: "I think you're a small room performer."

And surprisingly, the teen appeared to agree with his critics when he was interviewed on The Xtra Factor.

"You know what's really weird, before we actually went on to find out our results, I walked over to Ben and I went to him, 'I feel like it's my time to go'," he revealed.

"That might just be strictly coincidence, but I don't know.

"This show is a show and I started feeling like I wasn't right for it. I don't know why. I think that came across in my performance."

He went on to explain that he didn't feel ready for the potential demands of pop stardom.

"As much as this has been a good laugh, that's what I love - I just love doing gigs and someone shouting out, 'Play this!'."

"I just love that kind of atmosphere, and this is something that I'd have to spend a lot more than four weeks getting used to.

"But I'm really appreciative of everything I've been given and everything I've been taught."

Another act is set to leave in tonight's show - when there will be a sing-off between the two with the lowest number of votes.
