Ex strippers Kandy Rain were the first act voted out of X Factor last night.

The group were left in the final two with Rachel Adedeji in the Sunday results show.

After each act got two votes from the judges the loser was decided by who scored the lowest public votes- and it was Kandy Rain.

Boyzone manager Louis Walsh was absent from the programme after the death of Stephen Gately.

Fellow judge Dannii Minogue was forced to apologise for making bizarre comments about contestant Danyl.

On the Saturday show the Aussie said to the bi-sexual contestant: “If you’re to believe everything you read in the papers, then you didn’t need to change the gender references in that song.”

After 2,500 complaints about X Factor Dannii explained the comments saying “It was meant to be humourous. An openly bi-sexual guy singing a song that is lyrically a girls song.”

“I’d like to apologise to anyone who was offended by my comments.”

On Sunday’s show Robbie Williams and last year’s winner Alexandra Burke both performed live.
