Lola Saunders Gets Sunday Night X Factor Boot
Fishmonger is gutted as she loses out after sing-off goes to deadlock...
Lola Saunders is the second victim of the double elimination on this weekend's X Factor.
The 20-year-old fishmonger from Tyneside found herself in the bottom two and had to compete with eight-piece boy band Stereo Kicks in the sing-off.
And despite a convincing rendition of Aretha Franklin's soul classic (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, the judges' voting was tied two apiece - sending the issue to deadlock.
This meant that the public vote became the decider, and Lola was visibly upset as she was informed by presenter Dermot O'Leary that she had polled the least number of votes.
Composing herself after being comforted by mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, she said: "I tried the best that I could at the end of the day, but this experience has been life changing."
The news followed a group performance of Katy Perry's Firework (topical!) and guest performances from John Legend and from Chezza herself.
Jack Walton got the chop in Saturday night's show.
