According to The Hollywood Reporter, X Factor Around The World will air only in Indonesia and is billed as a celebration of The X Factor's success in that country, rather than a competition.
Last year's X Factor UK runner up Jahmene Douglas will perform on the show, alongside the US edition's season one winner Melanie Amaro and former X Factor Australia stars Samantha Jade and The Collective. The top 12 contestants from X Factor Indonesia will also reunite for a performance.
Indonesian X Factor judges Anggun and Ahmed Dahni will dish out advice to the guest acts alongside New Zealand judge Daniel Bedingfield, UK judge Walsh and former US judge Abdul.
The special has been masterminded by FreemantleMedia Asia and will reportedly be closely watched by Syco and FreemantleMedia executives to see whether the format could work in other markets.
FremantleMedia Asia managing director Paul O’Hanlon told The Hollywood Reporter: “This is the first time we have had an international [judging] panel for an Asian program, which is a massive coup for us.”
“X Factor Around the World in Indonesia has proven there is an appetite in the country for International artists who were showcased on local X Factors."
