Matt Cardle: "The X Factor Changed My Life"
The 2010 champ has claimed the show "saved him" from being a waster...
Matt Cardle, has revealed that the talent show has "changed his life."
The 27-year old claims that before taking part in the XF, he was a waster, who smoked cannabis and enjoyed boozy nights out with his friends.
When asked about the stigma attached with winning the XF, Cardle admitted: "To a certain extent that’s true but it has a lot to do with the people who didn’t do so well. You know, your Leon Jacksons and your Steve Brooksteins."
“If every time The X Factor was on you came out with someone like Leona Lewis then people would feel differently about the show. But it ain’t going to happen every time. I want to be one of the ones who comes out and is on top of things like Leona."
He added: "It’s a team effort, everything has to work well together to move forward in the right direction. It all starts with the song. I keep saying it but you have to have a great song.”
