Mel B Confirmed As Fourth X Factor Judge
Spice Girls star will join SiCo, Chezza and Louis on ITV talent show panel...
She will be joining Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh as the show gears up to regain lost ground in the ratings.
"I’m so excited to be joining The X Factor - I loved being a guest judge back in 2012," she said in a statement.
"I’ve always thought honesty is the best policy when being a judge and that’s what I’m going to bring more of this year - whether it’s spotting an incredible singer, giving someone a reality check or debating with Simon over who’s got it wrong! Now I can’t wait to get started and find some amazing talent."
And SiCo himself weighed in to say: "I am thrilled that Mel B has agreed to be a judge on The X Factor this year. I thought she was fantastic as a guest judge a couple of years ago. She is feisty, opinionated and, I believe, will be a great mentor."
A source told The Sun: "Simon was really keen on Mel as he wanted her to balance out Cheryl.
"While Cheryl is nice and sweet, Mel can be hard and ballsy. Simon has told Mel she needs to bring fireworks to the panel — and is rubbing his hands with glee at the arguments she'll get into with Cheryl.
"Mel was the last piece of the jigsaw and now she's finally signed up."
The 39-year-old star has previously worked on the Australian version of the show and made a guest appearance as a judge on the UK edition in 2012.
She is reportedly getting paid £900k, plus a whopping £100k expenses.
