Nicole Scherzinger is set to return to the X Factor… as a guest performer.

The Your Love hitmaker - who quit the ITV talent show last year to concentrate on her music career - is due to take to the stage next month, Digital Spy has confirmed.

It's bound to be an awkward reunion for Scherzy and current panelist Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, after Chezza revealed in her autobiography that she found Nic "a bit crazy and odd" after first meeting her.

The I Don't Care singer said in her book: "The first time I met Nicole was when she was performing on The X Factor in London. 'Oh my God, Cheryl! You're just as pretty in real life! I heard your song on the radio!' she had gushed. It was really embarrassing.

"Then she started singing Promise This to me, and I swear to God the woman sang the whole song, to my face. It was just so awkward, and every time I stood next to her she started singing it again."

The former Pussycat Doll then later replaced Chezza on The X Factor USA, with Cheryl appearing to later bury the hatchet by inviting Nic to her conert after-party in 2012.
