Nicole Scherzinger: 'X Factor Was A Jungle'
But Scherzy is 'dancing around' the idea of returning to the judges' panel...
The former Pussycat Doll, who lasted only one season on the US version of the show, said she was "proud" to have survived last year's series.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Nicole referred to her former bandmate Ashley Roberts' stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, saying: "I think The X Factor is our own jungle and I'm proud that I was able to survive that and came out on top."
And though the identity of this year's judges is very much up in the air, Scherzinger suggested she could take her place on the panel once again.
"I'm definitely dancing around with the idea. The show was one of my greatest highs from last year, having two of my contestants in the last two for the first time ever on the show was quite an accomplishment for me and for my boys.
"But we're just going to have to see."
Nicole's fellow judge from the 2012 series, Tulisa, is thought to have been axed from this year's competition, while Sharon Osbourne has been tipped to make a return after several years on the America's Got Talent panel.
Enjoying a break from the XF pressure, Nicole has been back in the studio and releases her new single Boomerang on 10 March.
She said of the track: "I just love the lyrics and the energy of the song. My friend Jamie Marshall wrote it and I really connected with it."
Nicole also revealed a few details about her upcoming album, and fans can look forward to some "really big dance anthems - really energetic, motivating, inspiring and fun songs".
But that's not all she's got in the pipeline. The hard-working singer is also hoping to further test her acting skills, following a cameo in Men In Black 3.
She explained: "I'm looking at doing film, I'm reading scripts to do some more acting.
"I would love to do a movie musical, maybe a comedy, indie or even an action film, I'd love that. Even theatre, whenever I can squeeze it in, would be great."
