Olly Murs is reported to be in the frame for a job on Gary Barlow.
The 29-year-old singer has enjoyed four UK No 1 singles since he was on the show, and has proved himself as a TV personality - as well as assisting Gazza as a guest mentor at the judges' houses stages on this year's series.
An insider told the paper: "We'd love to get Olly back as a young judge to freshen things up.
"He can relate to the other singers like no one else. Crucially, boss Simon Cowell is on good terms with Olly so if he can fit auditions around his career we think he would be perfect.
"Deals won't be done until the series ends but Olly is a front runner."
