One Direction Complete The X Factor Double

Boy band sing on British version of show days after doing American one...

One Direction have completed an historic double this week, appearing on both the UK and US versions of The X Factor.
We told you earlier in the week how the fivesome [uuid=d42ad5ee-4083-4bb6-8f6d-3ea15bd27b83]had wowed TV viewers across the pond[/uuid], and last night they performed their new single Little Things on our version of the talent show.
Their performance came after a memorable episode in which Gary Barlow praised Rylan Clark, Tulisa debuted a new hairdo, James Arthur did a dubstep version of an Adele song and Christopher Maloney insisted that he had not been voting for himself.
The theme of the night was "Best of British", and the show was opened by Maloney performing Sir Elton John's I'm Still Standing.
Asked about [uuid=30956e8e-ef93-476f-b4c0-a845b5aa2853]reports that he had spent thousands voting for himself[/uuid], the singer responded: "I mean... I just don't know where they've got that from."
And Gary Barlow even had a few words of praise for his nemesis on the show Rylan, admitting that the camp singer was "fun" - while simultaneously slating his vocals of course.
James Arthur may have provided the performance of the night, doing an acoustic take on Adele's Hometown Glory with a dubstep twist.
His effort prompted Gary to comment: "Adele is such an amazing brilliant artist, no one should ever cover her songs... except you.
"Most of the acts here are work in progress, but you're ready to record. Your talent is incredible."
