One Direction 'Reject The X Factor Mentor Roles'

Boy band say they don't feel qualified to offer advice to hopefuls...

One Directionhas rebuffed a suggestion that they might appear as mentors on The X Factor, claiming that they don't feel experienced enough.
The fivesome have already appeared as guest judges on the Australian version of the show, but appear to be in no hurry to get more involved with the show that brought them to fame.
Speaking to The Sun, Louis Tomlinson said: "We don't feel like we are in a position to be giving strong advice."
But bandmate Harry Styles admitted they did enjoy their appearance on the show down under, describing it as "really cool and fun".
The boys are claimed by the paper to have politely refused an offer from Simon Cowell to mentor contestants on the show.
In other X Factor news, the timings for the first live shows have been revealed - and the show will not clash with its BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing.
The first live show will be on Saturday, 6 October, from 8pm to 10.20pm, with the results aired between 8pm and 9pm the following evening.
Strictly will be screened on Friday and Saturday that week - with Saturday's show finishing at 7.45PM.
