Robbie Williams is the top target for the judging panel on the UK version of The X Factor, it has been reported.
The Sun claims that the Take That star is being offered the chance to join his bandmate Gary Barlow on the show this autumn.
A source told the paper: "This is the dream team. We have been looking at the show and thinking the unthinkable.
"Robbie is exactly the right person for the show - but we don't want to lose Gary to get him. We want them both. Robbie's people are saying he is too busy to do the show.
"But we worked around Gary when he first joined the panel and he was touring with Take That and it was fine. We know Robbie loves the show and he and Gary have a great friendship and rivalry - there will be fireworks for sure."
And the paper also claims that Louis Walsh could keep his job on the panel, even if the Robster were to sign up. It reckons the veteran pop manager is close to signing a new £750k deal for his tenth year on the show.
"Louis's future is as up in the air as it has been in any other year - but if Robbie and Gary do sign it will not necessarily mean curtains for him.
"The producers are relaxed about the gender make-up of the panel. It is all about having big personalities."
The fourth spot on the panel would be expected to be filled by Nicole Scherzinger, who won over fans in her debut year - while Tulisa has already been reported to be leaving.
Sharon Osbourne is also reportedly in the frame for a job on the show.
