Sharon Osbourne is reported to be set for a return to the UK version of Mel B apparently ruled herself out of contention for a job.
And Simon Cowell is "not looking at anyone else" to replace Tulisa on the panel this autumn.
A source told the paper: "Simon is a huge fan of Sharon. Things are looking good for her. She is in pole position."
Mel B had been a hit with fans when she made a guest appearance as a judge last year - but has now signed up to appear on Australia's Got Talent - as well as [uuid=cce78766-0b52-4321-8364-75bd8e671113]already having a gig[/uuid] on America's Got Talent.
And in a surprise move, Mel will be joined by Dawn French on the panel of the Aussie show.
