Cheryl Cole has visited Simon Cowell at his home in Los Angeles for a lengthy meeting, prompting speculation that she is preparing to return to The X Factor next year.
The Mirror newspaper reports that Chezza arrived at SiCo's mansion in a limo with blacked-out windows, staying for around three-and-a-half hours.
The pair had a public falling out after Cowell took her to the US to be a judge on the American version of the show - but she was then dropped by the TV network in favour of Nicole Scherzinger.
But she has already appeared on the UK version of the show again, helping Gary Barlow at the Judges' Houses stage of this year's contest.
And she later said of SiCo: "We're 'frenemies'. I've spoken to him many times."
But The Mirror quoted a source close to Cowell as playing down the X Factor return rumour, claiming that the pair were simply "shooting the breeze".
"He's very fond of Cheryl," the mole insisted. "They've met up a few times in the last 18 months.
"This could pave the way for conversations down the line about X Factor but it wasn't about that."
