Simon Cowellhas paid tribute to 2006 X Factor contestant Leona Lewis, was diagnosed with the disease in 2010 and was in a wheelchair after being involved in a car accident at the age of 13.

Confirming the 37-year old's death, her management stated: "It is with deep sadness we announce that Kerry passed away at home, earlier today following a battle with cancer."
They added: "At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Further details will be released in due course."
After hearing about Kerry's death, Cowell took to Sharon Osbourne also tweeted: "So sad about Kerry McGregor's passing. Much love and respect to her and her family."
