Sir Chris Hoy Issues X Factor Denial

Cycling star tells Twitter followers he's heard nothing about mentoring role...

Track cycling hero Sir Chris Hoy has poured cold water on tabloid claims that he is in negotiations to appear as a mentor on The X Factor.
[uuid=04c6f88f-324f-4a65-8018-5dbbe8c824ac]We told you yesterday[/uuid] how The Sun had reported that the flying Scotsman was set to give contestants in the ITV1 reality show a pep talk - along with fellow Team GB stars Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Bradley Wiggins.
But Hoy tweeted: "Some amusing stories in press about me being a mentor on X-Factor; that's the first I've heard about it! #dontbelievethehype!"
And he later added: "And no I'm not doing Strictly either!!"
The newspaper's source had said: "X Factor producers were literally jumping up and down with delight when they heard that all four Olympic athletes had agreed to do the show.
"In Mo, Bradley, Chris and Jess he has bagged arguably the cream of the crop from Team GB, and he is ecstatic they are going to be involved."
Producers were claimed to be planning a special Olympics-themed episode for later in the series.
